Acoustand Audio are proud to announce the return of the worlds first commercially available Pro-Ject Turntable sub-platter and bearing upgrades.

The Debut kit covers just about all debut models, this kit has the 75mm diameter black circular top plate, if this is yours, this kit will fit.

The Xpression kit or “MID-RANGE BEARING” kit covers lots of models not just Xpression. This kit has the small silver bearing with with the smaller 35mm diameter top plate with silver nut at its base and brass sleeve as seen in the photos.

The two kits are easily distinguished, 75mm top plate in black or 35mm top plate in silver. These two types are used across majority of project turntables.

Some kits have extended spindles for thicker platters, these are available, please ask at checkout, there is no extra charge for these.

We have massively upgraded the bearing system of these sets. The Delrin bearings we used to produce although great were not producing the detail we had hoped for, we felt there was more musical detail and nuances that could still be extracted but this would require a different approach completely.

The latest kits sport a solid bronze bearing which are substantial, with the Debut kit weighing 5 times that of the original project kit at 1kg and the Xpression kit weighing a little over 4 times that of the original project kit at 600g

The mass of a turntable is of the upmost importance, and the kits available here will elevate your turntables performance twofold..

These Sub-platters themselves are precision made from Delrin which we found is superior to the previous aluminium model we made and has even better dynamics and rhythm. Darker quiet periods, and most notably speed stability and improved pitch stability, this was not a cost move, on the contrary, Delrin is more expensive than alloy.

There is no ball bearing, the new version has a built in PEEK Ceramic thrust pad set inside the new bearing housing, no mess no fuss.

The plastic lightweight sub-platter and bearing that came with your turntable listed above though good at it's job can be massively improved upon bringing so much more detail and mass to your turntable as well as speed stability, and enabling it to produce a sound that equals turntables costing many hundreds more.

We have put a considerable amount of time and research into these products and this will sure to be experienced by you with astonishing results.

Identify model of your turntable
There are generally 2 types of bearing, that are easily distinguishable.
Select Xpression type with the small silver “Mid-range” bearing with silver nut at the base or Debut Type with large 75mm black top plate.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Fitting, this is a reversal of removal. Reuse the three screws you took out of your original bearing to fit your new bearing. Making sure everything is clean with bearing and spindle, put 6 drops of oil into the bearing and a drop on the spindle and spread oil around the spindle. Place subplatter gently into the bearing and let it lower naturally, do not force. Gently turn it until fully seated.

Place on the belt, fit main platter, job done.
