Acoustand A.V.I.S-1 isolation feet. NEW PRODUCT!

each
Acoustand are proud to announce their new premium isolation feet with the introduction of the first model the A.V.I.S-1 Designed and built by Acoustand in the U.K.

Each individual foot contains no less than 16 individual components completely hand assembled to strict standards.

Made from a range of materials, each dealing with their own frequency to help reduce unwanted vibrations and reduce coloration.

OVERVIEW
The A.V.I.S-1 Isolation Foot is a premium anti-vibration solution designed to isolate high-fidelity audio equipment from external and internal vibrations, ensuring pristine sound reproduction. This sophisticated design combines a robust alloy housing for structural integrity, a viscous elastic core for superior vibration damping, and a Delrin lower footer portion that optimises contact with the viscous elastic core for enhanced performance. Ideal for audiophiles, this foot delivers exceptional isolation across a wide frequency range (10–200 Hz), protecting sensitive components like turntables, DACs, and amplifiers from floor-borne vibrations and mechanical resonances.

DESIGN FEATURES

ALLOY HOUSING:
Material: CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, chosen for its high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and ability to be anodized for a sleek, professional finish.

STRUCTURE
Cylindrical housing, 50mm in diameter and 35.5mm tall, with a varying wall thickness of between 5-30mm to balance rigidity and weight. The top face includes a threaded insert (M6) for secure attachment to audio equipment, while the open bottom allows the Delrin lower portion to interface with the viscous elastic core.

FINISH
Anodised in black, silver, or brushed aluminum for aesthetic compatibility with high-end audio setups. Optional laser-etched branding or model details for a premium look. Please enquire.

FUNCTION
The alloy housing provides a stable, non-resonant structure to contain the viscous elastic core and protect it from deformation under load. It also ensures precise alignment of the internal components for consistent performance.

Viscous elastic Core.
Viscoelastic elastic polyurethane known for its exceptional vibration-damping properties, converts vibrational energy into negligible heat.

SPECIFICATIONS.
A 30mm diameter cylindrical viscous elastic core with a durometer of 30–50 (selected based on equipment weight, typically supporting 5-10kg per foot). The material is precision-cut to fit snugly within the alloy housing.

PERFORMANCE
The viscous elastic excels at broadband vibration isolation, particularly in the 10–200 Hz range, which is critical for audio equipment. It absorbs micro-vibrations from floor sources (e.g., footfalls, subwoofer feedback) and internal resonances, reducing distortion and improving soundstage clarity.

INTEGRATION
The Viscous elastic core is press-fit to the inner top surface of the alloy housing, ensuring consistent contact with the Delrin lower portion for optimal energy transfer and damping.

DELRIN LOWER SECTION.
Delrin (polyoxymethylene, POM), a high-strength, low-friction engineering plastic with excellent dimensional stability and wear resistance. Delrin is chosen for its rigidity and smooth surface, which minimises friction and ensures reliable interaction with the viscous elastic core.

DESIGN.
A 20mm diameter thick stem with a slightly convex top surface that presses upward into the viscous elastic core, maximising contact area and damping efficiency. The 60mm diameter bottom surface is flat with an optional embedded felt or rubber pad to protect hard floors or enhance grip on carpeted surfaces and to further help reduce vibration.

FUNCTION.
The Delrin lower portion acts as a dynamic interface, transmitting vibrations from the floor to the viscous elastic core while maintaining minimal to zero contact with the upper aluminium housing. Its rigidity prevents deformation, ensuring consistent pressure against the viscous elastic core for effective damping. The separate Delrin piece allows slight vertical movement, enhancing isolation by decoupling the equipment from the surface.

FINISH.
Matte black Delrin for a sleek appearance, complementing the alloy housing.

ASSEMBLY AND FUNCTIONALITY.

CONSTRUCTION.
The alloy housing is machined to precise tolerances, with an internal cavity to hold the viscous elastic core snugly. The viscous elastic core is secured to the inner top of the housing using mechanical retention. The Delrin lower portion is designed to fit loosely within the housing’s lower opening, allowing it to float and press upward against the viscous elastic core under the equipment’s weight. A retaining ring or lip on the housing prevents the Delrin piece from detaching while permitting slight vertical travel (2-5mm) for dynamic isolation.

VIBRATION ISOLATION MECHANISM.
Vibrations from the floor are intercepted by the Delrin lower portion, which transfers them to the viscous elastic core. The core absorbs and dissipates the energy as heat, preventing transmission to the alloy housing and, ultimately, the audio equipment. The rigid alloy housing ensures the system remains stable under loads up to 15kg per foot.

INSTALLATION.
Each foot attaches to the audio equipment via a threaded stud (M6) or rubber pad if not requiring a thread, depending on the component’s mounting points. Typically, 3–4 feet are used per unit, positioned at corners or balanced points to evenly distribute weight.

SUPERIOR VIBRATION DAMPING.
The viscous elastic core effectively isolates vibrations in the critical 10–200 Hz range, reducing microphonic vibrations in turntables, improving bass definition in speakers, and enhancing clarity in amplifiers.

BROAD COMPATIBILITY.
Suitable for equipment weighing 9-60kg covering most turntables, amplifiers, and bookshelf speakers.

Perfect for replacements for the Technics 1200 series turntables.

DURABILITY AND STABILITY.
The aluminum alloy housing ensures long-term structural integrity, while Delrin’s wear resistance maintains consistent performance over time.

AESTHETIC APPEAL.
The combination of anodized aluminum and Delrin delivers a modern, professional look that complements high-end audio setups.

APPLICATIONS.

TURNTABLES.
Minimises stylus skipping and feedback from floor vibrations, preserving tracking accuracy and sound fidelity.

AMPLIFIERS.
Reduces micro-vibrations that can affect sensitive circuitry, improving signal purity.

SPEAKERS.
Enhances bass clarity and soundstage by isolating cabinet resonances from the floor.

OTHER COMPONENTS.
Ideal for DACs, CD players, or other sensitive electronics requiring vibration-free operation.

SURFACE PROTECTION.
Use optional felt or rubber pads on the Delrin base for hard floors to prevent scratches.

CONCLUSION.
The A.V.I.S-1 Isolation Foot is a meticulously engineered solution for audiophiles seeking to elevate their listening experience. By combining the structural strength of aluminium alloy, the unmatched damping properties of viscous elastic, and the dynamic interface of Delrin, this design delivers superior vibration isolation, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Whether used with a high-end turntable, amplifier, or speaker system, these feet ensure that every note is reproduced with clarity and precision, free from the interference of unwanted vibrations.
